All you Sherlocks should lighten up. It does not matter wether this came from actual maint. logs, or someones fertile imagination. these were so funny, I had to stop reading for fear I would have a heart attack, and my hat's off to whoever is responsible.

Well, I might be the oldest one yet to post, based on the other posts. When I was a simulator tech in the USAF back in the early 80s I saw this as a Xeroxed to death copy. It was said to be from military aviation. I have no idea how old it was at that point, or if it was even true. It's funny nonetheless.

As a former Navy Aviation Electrician, I have heard these before... and yes, this does really happen... to a degree... a favorite is always:

P: (Something) inoperative in OFF
S: OFF does not stand for "On For Flight"
(or)
S: User error, recommend replacing Pilot

so to BS... I have no doubt that these are real.... if we dont use humor, we will go crazy with some of the BS gripes out there...

Nope.

Firstly a 'computer' doesn't pick letters at random, the contestants choose whether they want a consonant or vowel and Carol Vorderman (the lady in the above pic) takes a letter from the top of the appropriate pile.

Secondly, Countdown isn't broadcast live and 'wankmeoff' would never make it to air.

The only time anything like this has remotely happened on Countdown was when the last four letters spelled out 'arse'.

I hate to say it, but while the pic is funny, it's been photoshopped and the description is wrong.

This shows you how children soak in everything they hear and take it to heart. This is why it is so easy to get people to believe in a magical pixie who is invisible and contradictory and omnipotent, but somehow it is a sacrifice that he got killed. Roman soldiers kick ass.

I was a Navy corpsman (medic) and had the priviledge of giving Navy Captain Glenn Ford his annual physical at my Dispensary on Treasure Island, Ca. He was a true gentleman, and I really enjoyed the couple hours we could visit both of the years I was assigned to his physical. A very nice man, and a fine American. And a darned good actor.
